Senior Scientist Programmer

We are looking for a Senior Scientist Programmer to help develop our next generation DNA analysis engine. This position is full time. Compensation will be competitive, dependent on experience. Our offices are located in the heart of downtown Seattle. Local candidates or those willing to relocate to Seattle.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Masters in Genetics or Computational Biology
  • Ability to prepare data for scientific analysis
  • Ability to write and submit a manuscript to a range of journals
  • Python fluency; Boost.Python experience a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of scientists in the field
  • Ability to provide data to the development team for debugging and improvement
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Expert Linux command line skills
  • git (we use Bitbucket and git flow)
  • A willingness to learn new science in our emerging field.

Nice to have:

  • At least 2 years coding scientific software
  • At least 1 other user of your scientific software
  • At least 1 year experience in C++ (we use C++11, STL, Boost)
  • Deployment experience to AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud environment
  • Agile / Scrum / JIRA
