Hi there,

I have some mouse rna-seq data and would like to do some functional enrichment analysis, but I do not have such robust signatures designed just for mouse, such as MSigDB.

Thus, I wonder is it logical to convert mouse gene to human gene, and perform the typical downstream analysis just like I am dealing with a human RNA-Seq data.

And if this is not right at all, is there any pathways (signature) database designed exactly for mouse-related research?

Many thanks advanced.

MSigDB gene sets are not just for human. They are just converted to human symbols for consistency. The gene sets come from different species and there is actually an organism specified for each. For example: ABBUD_LIF_SIGNALING_2_DN is based on Rattus norvegicus.

Perhaps have a look at MouseMine: http://www.mousemine.org/mousemine/bag.do?subtab=upload
