Hi,

I tried to retrieve protein sequence data from UniProt site, however, I haven't downloaded the data because is huge files ( about 130GB). I suppose, there are all species in that file.

Is there a manner to download just protein sequence data from UniProt specific for human?

Thank you very much.

Carlos

You can use the advance search option with selecting taxonomy from dropdown and then putting in 9606 (the taxonomy id of human) The autocomplete should suggest accordingly.

Yes, you can easily download all human protein sequences.

  1. Go to UniProt homepage.
  2. Limit the search to human proteins by typing in the search box organism:"Homo sapiens (Human) [9606]".
  3. Download the FASTA sequences (Download button).
