What might be the cause of database inconsistency? Usually, I can find something in some databases, for example, a variant. However, this variant might not be found in some other databases. I know this is a common phenomenon. But data is right there so why they do not keep data consistent?
One cause could be genome build version differences.
Some causes I can consider:
Sometimes chromosome/contig/scaffold names differ among sources (e.g., 1 vs. chr1 vs. NC_000001 vs. NC_000001.11).
