What is the structure/format of an idx file generated by index command of igvtools? Thanks for any help or enlightenment on this topic.

The idx indexes are also know as 'tribble'. They are used to index non-bgzip genomic files. The structure is 'defined' in the htsjdk library: https://github.com/samtools/htsjdk/blob/master/src/main/java/htsjdk/tribble/index/DynamicIndexCreator.java
