Hello!
I am making a comparative analysis between some genomes. I used genemarkS, and I got an output file containing the coordinates of those predicted genes as well as there position in the strands (if the genes "lies" on the positive or on the negative strand). I realized that some genomes contain more genes that "lies " on the positive strand that the negative one. To be more accurate, the vast majority of those genomes that I am studying have a range of 52%-55% on the + strand and 48%-45% on the - strand, respectively. One the other hand, I got some genomes that have a percentage of about %63 on the + strand and about 37% in the - strand.
Is this observation important, or it is a coincidence?

No worries - I found your question rather interesting, I haven't taken notice of such a difference (at least not that I remember). The very brief answer reflects more time constraints - I didn't mean to judge.
