Hi there, I'm new to here. I have to write a report for one of my classes, this is the first time I'm ever using any of these genome sequencing search engines and I'm very very lost. I especially need help with this part of the report: Exhaustively search for its homolog genes and proteins in all domains of life. Draw a phylogenetic tree(s) to reveal its evolution. I'm using the DRD2 gene, I've entered it into BLAST but I am just so stuck and don't know where to go from here. How do I search for the homolog genes in all domains of life? I did find this: cellular organisms › Eukaryota › Opisthokonta › Metazoa › Eumetazoa › Bilateria › Deuterostomia › Chordata › Craniata › Vertebrata › Gnathostomata › Teleostomi › Euteleostomi › Sarcopterygii › Dipnotetrapodomorpha › Tetrapoda › Amniota › Mammalia › Theria › Eutheria › Boreoeutheria › Euarchontoglires › Primates › Haplorrhini › Simiiformes › Catarrhini › Hominoidea › Hominidae › Homininae › Homo

Please let me know if you have any tips of how I can start!

Thanks!

Fear not NCBI has already done some of the work for you. On a more serious note this is how the process works.
