Hi there, Just an exercise(as the research is already been done), I wanted to do sequence alignment and phylogeny for the novel corona virus 2019. However, in NCBI we have so many sequences already deposited, on what basis should i select one? Is there a free online tool to perform phylogeny analysis on selected sequence. Thanks for helping me learn!

This analysis is available in real time at: https://nextstrain.org/ncov
Thanks, just checked it, I will still need to choose an accession number for it. My question is how do i select one particular sequence of all?

Choose NC_045512 which is designated as Reference Sequence from NCBI page.
Edit: May 2020> NCBI has a new SARS virus resource page here.
