Relatedness check for trio samples (Proband/Parents)

How can i check the relatedness for trio (parents/proband) WGS/WES clinical samples? Currently i use the overlapped variants approach for that. But are there any other reliable methods that can work for the trio samples. I've tried "vcftools --relatedness2" but that didn't work for me.

You could use plink or KING.

Can't use these two as both need a PLINK style PED files, and our online portal processing doesn't support that format. Thank you!
