Epidemiologic Research Assistant

National Cancer Institute – Contractor Position


The Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch (ITEB) is seeking an Epidemiologic Research Assistant! This position helps with administrative functions that support research such as maintaining records of study progress and publications, coordinating various administrative projects, and organizing scientific meetings. This position will work closely with the ITEB branch chief to assist in documenting and executing ITEB’s strategic plan. Additionally, this position involves assisting multiple investigators on all aspects of epidemiologic cancer research, including, data management (data coding and cleaning, specimen tracking), analysis (entry-level statistical analysis of epidemiologic and laboratory data), and preparation of reports for presentation or publication.

Qualifications: Individuals may hold a bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, biobehavioral health, biology, or a related field. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software and familiarity with citation management programs are preferred. Job requires organizational abilities, attention to detail, initiative and ability to work independently as well as part of a team, exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, and an aptitude for multi-tasking.
