Hi

I've demultiplexed a fastq file into the individual samples, but it seems there is something wrong, the size of the individual samples is various, and this difference sometimes is really high, for example about 1 GB. Is it normal?

Almost all the samples volume is the same, for example 1.4, 1.5 or 1.6 GB but some files have higher volume about 2.1 GB.

Thanks,

Lucas

It is normal to have data files of various sizes. This could be due to imbalance of the sample concentration in original pool and/or quality of the individual libraries (e.g. if libraries have short inserts so adapters get trimmed from sequence when you have sequence read-through).
