I was reading an article, and encounter that following sentence, "Mutational barcoding establishes that North American coronaviruses harbor genome signatures different from coronaviruses prevalent in Europe and Asia, which have converged over time". I was confused about the meaning of "mutational barcoding", and moreover, what is the meaning of "coronavirus being converged over time"? Many thanks in advance.
