Hello Maryam Sophea !

It appears that your post has been cross-posted to another site: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/65982893/

This is typically not recommended as it runs the risk of annoying people in both communities.

When I download that file as you specified, one of the lines that show up on the screen is this:

Length: unspecified [text/html]

That means that it is not downloading the actual .gz file, but some web page probably saying that the file is not there or some such thing. You will have to download it elsewhere. Maybe this will work:

wget http://gentoo.bloodhost.ru/distfiles/6b/clustalw-mpi-0.13.tar.gz

I don't know what exactly is the problem with MPICH, but you need to have it installed on your computer. I assumed you did since you were specifically going for the MPI version. Anyway, this Google search should give you enough information to get that done. Once MPICH is installed, go to Clustal directory and type make. Compilation took less than 10 seconds for me, so I think it is only a matter of having the MPI compiler and libraries available.
