Hello,

I would like to ask which of the following NGS kits for exome Sequencing is the best. Could someone have a comparison between them? 1. IDT xGen Exome Research Panel v2 2. TWIST Human exome core

Thanks, Nikos

You should ask this question on a biology oriented forum like biology stackexchange. In its current form this question is not related to bioinformatics which this forum focuses on.

If you are not going to make these libraries then it would be dependent on the provider you are going to use as to what they prefer/use. Both kits should get the job done.

Agree with the advise. These standard applications are usually most cost effective when being done by a larger core facility or sequencing provider, and they will have kits and protocols established. I would simply ask for quotes from either an academic core facility at your or a collaborating institution or commercial providers such as Novogene.

Hi,

You should probably think abou the question you want to ask. Which genes are you most interested in? Are they covered by the kit design? you can check the target regions and compare then for example. Which target coverage do you want in which percentage? 99% with 10x, 20x, 30x? What's the price difference? Which has the best cost benefit? You also can ask the kit providers raw data to explore before buy for example.

Since the question is quite unclear, I can just say that I ha a nice experience with both of them and for me I'd prefer these over many other kits.
