We have just released a new tutorial for exploring ENCODE data in the UCSC Genome Browser. It is aimed more at biologist end users of the browser (not so much you folks here at BioStar)--but you might find something useful in there as well.

You can also use the slides yourself to do a workshop or teach students. We've workshopped these several times and it was well received.

There's a movie (which corresponds to the slides, and the script is found in the "notes" area of the slides). Slides, pdf of the slides as a handout, and a set of exercises are also over there, and you can download them.

Details are here, with links to the previous tutorial we had as well. It has some background that we skipped for the new one.
