@sukhdeep, I think that this is not a duplicate. There are two different issues with newbler, The first one is to obtain the software (this question), and the other is how to install it in a 64 bits linux (the answers you pointed at). I have the impression that Roche is not very kind of distributing newbler openly. As a Junior client, when I needed to upgrade to 2.7 I was unable to obtain it from the web and I needed to call tech support and they provided me a FTP link with usr and passw for download it, but I heard from non-clients that was not easy to obtain a copy from the web. The other problem is that the newbler graphical install is 32 bits and it will fail in 64 bits linux with a very misleading message. It took me a long time realizing that. The links like the ones provided by @Sukhdeep would help with that part of the problem.

Pablo, from the question, its stats that OP, wants to know is its possible to install on not, which is answered in the first two links. Then, without knowing the specific error message, one would think might be a 64-bit problem, so as the second link. I am not sure, if there will be a download link present for the commercial software. The most straightforward way to obtain a tool/package is from the company/people who made it, there is error in the form for OP, now two things, 1) what's the error? 2) its seems a non-technical thing not related to Bioinformatics, that Roche people can/should handle/answer as you are saying as well, a difference b/w clients/non-clients. My comment is not the exhaustive answer, thats why the question is still open.

Everytime I needed a new version of newbler (in my case, it was not to actually assemble, but more to deal with SFF files when alternatives toolboxes were rare and far from being perfect), I just asked them a copy directly:

You'll find the 'request for free link'.

I guess people don't find Newbler because it's actually a program wrapped in the GS De Novo Assembler software, so that's what you want.
