The lab I work in has recently become interested in phospholipids and their physical/chemical properties. However one issue we have been dealing with is what constitutes a functionally different phospholipid. We are interested in factors such as transition temperature, reaction to water (micelle size, ability of a monolayer to prevent water touching a surface, etc.). I was curious if anyone knows of software capable of modeling phospholipids in aqueous environments or changing temperatures. Thanks!
Are you really looking for properties of single lipids or simulation of their behavior in membranes or bilayers? There is a lot of search results for MD simulations of "phospholipid bilayers" or "phospholipid bilayer simulation" or "phospholipid membrane simulation", e.g. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20682260 Is that what you are looking for?
