The Translational Epilepsy Neurogenetics Laboratory at the Department of Neurology is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with interest to pursue career in NIH funded human translational genetic research of epilepsy and the sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) in a laboratory with expertise and special interest in the role of ion channels in complex human phenotypes.

Successful applicant will have the opportunity to perform family and population based genomic profiling, genetic data sorting, validation, variant cataloging, bioinformatics analysis, and genotype-phenotype correlations.

The qualified applicant is expected to have solid command of molecular biology techniques such as DNA, RNA extractions, processing and analysis, PCR, qPCR, and such. Applicant is also expected to be well versed in navigating genome browsers and genomic databases and to have at least essential experience in the bioinformatics analysis of the genomic data.

Minimum education: PhD
