Question: (Closed) Samtools: Command Not Found

I recently installed samtools made "make" the folder and got the samtools unix executable file I place it my /Users/josemaldonado/bin how do i specify that path so that I can execute the command from any directory. Thanks

This is not a bioinformatics question but one on using unix command line: cuffmerge: command not found

3) Type :wq (to save it)

Now you should be able to type samtools anywhere and it should work.
