hi all, we are creating an application and we want users to upload large BAM files. I was wondering if there are any recommendations for storing large files online.

the filesystem ;-) ... it is actually a very efficient database that uses a highly tuned tree data structure to quickly access any key (file) by name.

i am looking for internet solutions as in online storage that can work with genomics files.

I would rewrite the title: Looking for an online storage suited for large files.

Also: make sure that you understand how expensive online data storage actually is ~ $800 per terrabyte/year.

On Windows Azure, its ~ $ 69 for 1TB and then ~ $60 for next 50 TB.

That list does not have a unit of measure, what is $0.05? if it is GB as for the Amazon cloud then 0.05 * 1024 = $51/TB per month, and $621 per TB per year. Now if you add to this the cost of bandwidth you are looking at $1000 per year just to store and access 1 TB.
