Genes whose names starts with AL
1
Hi!!
I was analyzing a megabase for a project, when a I realise that there were some genes whose names starts with "AL", such as AL121750.1 or AL390065.2. Although I've been searching for a relation between these genes, it seems that they are not related.
However, it doesn't seem to be a casualty. I was wondering if the name refers to an experiment in some institution... but I still can't find anything.
I'm desperate to find an explanation, so I've thought about asking for your help.
Thank you in advance. SofĂa.
The link of the megabase is: https://www.ensembl.org/Homo_sapiens/Location/View?db=core;g=ENSG00000197386;r=4:3041363-3243960

Looks like AL
accession numbers were originally assigned by EMBL for
AL,BX,CR,CT,CU,FP,FQ,FR EMBL Genome project data
Locations of these are near each other on Chromosome 4. Currently mapping to following entries.
