Hello esteemed virtual colleagues.

As you may know, when using the parameter max_target_seqs for getting multiple results, some result lines differ from others only by the query sequence id (qseqid). Is there a way to avoid getting such lines multiple times?

Not exactly certain what you are asking but here goes. - Each query is different and blast has no way of keeping track of how queries relate to the hits as each search is independent.

What I mean is that the information in such lines is identical: the location of the hit, the encoded gene, etc. For some reason I'm getting an error message when I attempt to edit the question ("Invalid characters in tag: [object"), so I'm adding a clarification in a comment.
