Hi,

I have some fastq files and I want to remove adapters. The kit used was "TruSeq Stranded Total RNA with Ribo-Zero - H/M/R_Gold" but I can't find any info on it. Anyone know where I can find the adapters used for this kit?

  1. fastp will identify possible adapters in your data automatically.
  2. You could use bbmerge method - How to figure out adapter sequence for Illumina reads?
  3. These should be standard TruSeq adapters. You can find the sequence in Illumina's site here.

Thanks a lot for your response!

There are several TruSeq kits on Illumina's site and they don't seem to all have the same kind of adapters. Do you know which kit I should look at?

See https://support-docs.illumina.com/SHARE/AdapterSeq/illumina-adapter-sequences.pdf

TruSeq is always the same adapter sequence, starting with AGATCGGAAGAGC for both reads.
