Hi everybody, I want to use GCTA to estimate variance components. My data is for horse species.

This program doesn't recognize the command:

gcta64 --reml --grm r --pheno remel.phen.txt --reml-pred-rand –qcovar tt.qcovar.txt --out test1

The following error occurs:  Error (invalid option "--qcovr.txt")

my format of tt.qcovar.txt : (no header line; columns are family ID, individual ID, sex, EBV)

How can I solve my problem?

I appreciate your guiding me regarding this. Thanks

Hi, it is likely due to the fact that you are using an em-dash, as follows:

–qcovar

It should, however, be two hyphens, like this:

--qcovar

Oh God, it was simple :)

As always, Kevin's comments are helpful in Biostars.

Great Kevin thanks.
