Longevity Bioinformatics is among the most exciting research topics available right now! The Institute for Biostatistics and Informatics in Medicine and Ageing Research at the Rostock University Medical Center (Germany) expects two openings at the beginning of 2022, on the postdoctoral and on the predoctoral level, for approximately 3 years.

You will support an observational human and mouse study on senescence/inflammation biomarkers of cancer-associated (co-)morbidity, an interventional human study on anti-inflammatory dietary geroprotection, and/or a preclinical development effort countering fibrosis of eye tissue. You will work with transcriptomics, proteomics, clinical chemistry, microbiome and related data, and use machine learning, network biology and/or data integration methodology, all in a highly interdisciplinary manner, towards translation (potentially giving rise to a longevity biotech startup). You can make a difference, enabling people to have a healthier (and longer) life.

Qualifications

  • Programming skills (e.g. Python and/or R)
  • Good communication skills (oral presentations and written)

For the postdoctoral level, you need to be in the closing months of your doctoral degree; for the predoctoral level, you need to be in the closing months of your Master’s degree in bioinformatics (or related subject).

How to Apply

Please send your expression of interest (preferably including CV and a brief statement of research interests and qualifications) in a single PDF document, to Prof. Dr. Georg Fuellen, bioinfo-jobs@med.uni-rostock.de
