New England Biolabs is seeking a computational scientist to work collaboratively with bench scientists. We will collaboratively construct software methods, analyze sequence results, and integrate data from instrumentation, ultimately creating high quality, rigorously tested, and provably excellent products. Required Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience with analysis of high-throughput sequence data

  • Software development skills (Python, Rust, R, etc.)

  • Appreciation for simple, high quality, maintainable software

  • Demonstrated scientific communication skills

  • Advanced degree in computational biology, bioinformatics or a molecular biology related field with significant data analysis experience. Computational training with significant biological experience is also acceptable.

  • Strong work ethic, emphasizing both efficiency and quality of work

  • Accessible evidence of software development history (e.g. Github)

  • Passion for learning

Preferred Qualifications / Experience:

  • Modern web development skills (HTML5, Rails, Vue.js, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Cluster computing

  • Publication of original scientific work in relevant journals
