I have 50 genetic sequences that are 100% the same. The sequences come from Rickettsia aeschlimanii, an intracellular bacteria. I used two variable markers, the ompA and gltA genes. The rickettsia aeschlimanii all came from Hyalomma marginatum ticks (50) collected from various cattle. Insights into the meaning of this high degree of similarity would be really helpful. I'm not sure how to interpret this homogeneity as it is a bit strange?
