I used the following command in anoconda to install "clustalw" from biopython:

conda install clustalw

And I am sure I have set the channel correctly:

conda config --add channels defaults

conda config --add channels bioconda

conda config --add channels conda-forge

I received following information:

Collecting package metadata (current_repodata.json): done Solving environment: failed with initial frozen solve. Retrying with flexible solve. Collecting package metadata (repodata.json): done Solving environment: failed with initial frozen solve. Retrying with flexible solve.

PackagesNotFoundError: The following packages are not available from current channels:

  • clustalw

Current channels:

To search for alternate channels that may provide the conda package you're looking for, navigate to

and use the search bar at the top of the page.

I am wondering how I can solve this? Thanks in advance.

There is no conda build for Windows, simple as that. Maybe try something like WSL.

See: https://anaconda.org/bioconda/clustalw

Maybe you could try a precompiled executable from www.clustal.org/download/current/.
