Hello guys, please, can someone explain me the meaning of overlapping the same sequence?
I am going to identify the chimeric reads from ONT and I would like to use yacrd application. It requires only 2 steps:
- minimap2 -x ava-ont reads.fq reads.fq > overlap.paf
- yacrd -i overlap.paf -o reads.yacrd
About the 1st command: I don't understand the reason of overlapping the same sequence. Which information will give me back this operation? How this can help me (yacrd) to identify the chimeric reads? Probably I am missing something of the "overlap" operation.
Please, can some good soul help me?
