Applications are invited for a Bioinformatician to join the recently established Oxford-GSK Institute for Molecular and Computational Medicine (IMCM), at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

You will be responsible for providing computational biology and bioinformatics expertise for IMCM projects to exploit the potential of data analytics, AI/ML and next generation deep phenotyping to enable the detection of neurodegenerative/neuroimflammatory disease endophenotypes and identification of patients and biomarkers for progression. Reporting to Senior Bioinformatician for IMCM, you will work closely with Medical Statisticians, Machine Learning researchers, Senior Data Manager, Big Data Institute team and the Joint Project Teams to develop a data analysis strategy for all the projects under IMCM, with oversight from the Data Platform, Governance & Analytics Committee and IMCM co-directors Professor John Todd and Dr Tony Wood. You will contribute to developing a plan for bioinformatics analyses of multi-omics data from tissue generated from patients and/or cells from human relevant translational models for each project. You will apply existing bioinformatics tools/pipelines, and design, develop, implement and maintain novel bioinformatics algorithm to conduct detailed analyses of datasets in order to address specific questions of each project.
