Grade 8: £42,149 - £50,296 with a discretionary range to £54,943 per annum
Applications are invited for a Senior Statistical Geneticist to join the Oxford-GSK Institute for Molecular and Computational Medicine (IMCM), at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
You will be responsible for leading the statistical analyses of existing and emerging data types, such as sequencing data and spatial imaging, for IMCM projects to exploit the potential of data analytics, AI/ML and next generation deep phenotyping to enable the detection of neurodegenerative/ neuroimflammatory disease endophenotypes and identification of patients and biomarkers for progression.. You will take primary responsibility for the development and application of new and existing statistical tools and methodologies, analyse datasets and draw appropriate conclusion.. You will work closely with the other project members, such as Senior Bioinformaticians, for the development of the assembly software, to ensure the proper co-operation of different modules within the code. You will prepare the results of your work for presentation as publications in learned journals and at national and international conferences, representing the IMCM both nationally and internationally, and provide effective people management by communicating with all members of IMCM team, including taking responsibility for the line-management of more junior statistical geneticists in the IMCM team.
