How to calculate effect size between two samples for a gene set in case if I have effect size of the two samples?

for example

   s.dist sample1 sample 2

0.4730 -0.05460 -0.47000

How s,dist has been calculated? Thanks

How s,dist has been calculated?

Since you have euclidean among your keywords, I suspect the answer is the euclidean distance between the two samples:

sqrt((-0.05460)^2 + (-0.47000)^2)
0.4731608

perhaps the discrepancy with your 0.4730 is due to some rounding error in reporting.
