Senior Application Developer

Responsibilities
The Application Developer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of system modeling, design, implementation, and administration for at least two major projects that focus on establishing and supporting a large national organ repository for research in Type 1 Diabetes. This position reports directly to the site Principal Investigator and lateral to Senior Application Developers. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead the software development team to exemplify good practices in software development and maintenance;
- Design/develop the pipelines and APIs for both web-based front-end and back-end;
- Provide guidance and direction in software development principles and practices to researchers.
- Stay abreast with the latest technical progress to optimize existing systems.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Information Systems or Computer Science or related discipline and 3 to 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills required.
- Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, CSS, and web development and software engineering principles required.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions like AWS's Lambda, and supporting frameworks like Serverless required.
- Experience with modern MVC programming frameworks, advanced SQL, version control, automated testing required
- Excellent verbal, written and technical communication skills and interpersonal skills required
