The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
This position will be in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command's Biotechnology High Performance Computing Software Applications Institute (BHSAI) [www.BHSAI.org]. Performs interdisciplinary research, combining physical, computational, and life-science research to improve the efficiency and efficacy in the development of militarily relevant medical products for Force Health Protection.
HJF is seeking a Computational Research Scientist I or II to perform interdisciplinary research, combining physical, computational, and life-science research to improve the efficiency and efficacy in the development of militarily relevant medical products for Force Health Protection. Mainly works performing independent research in a focused problem area.
This opening is focused on Computational Metabolic Network Modeling. We seek to expand our efforts in computational modeling that integrates transcriptomic and metabolomic data with metabolic networks to understand human physiological processes involved in drug- and toxicant-induced liver and kidney injuries. We perform both basic and applied research in close collaboration with experimental laboratories, with the ultimate goal of developing biomarker diagnostics and countermeasures to address a diverse set of military medical problems.
