Hello everyone,
Next week, Dr. Adam Rork at The University of Connecticut Computational Biology Core (CBC) is hosting a three-day Virtual Genome Annotation workshop, from November 18th to 20th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST, via Microsoft Teams. Topics covered include accessing HPC resources and submitting jobs via Slurm, assessing and improving the quality of raw sequencing data via trimming, assessing genome assembly quality, masking genomic repeats, and structurally annotating eukaryotic genomes using standard (e.g., Augustus, Helixer, BRAKER3) and newer (e.g., EASEL) pipelines.
Temporary access to high-performance computing resources will be provided for attendees, and no prior HPC or Linux experience is required. All workshop materials, including slides, scripts, data, and recordings, will also be made available.
This three-day workshop is priced at $500 for non-UConn attendees and $400 for UConn-affiliates. Feel free to reach out to us here or at cbcsupport@helpspotmail.com if you have any questions. For more details on this and other workshops, and to register, please visit our website: https://bioinformatics.uconn.edu/cbc-workshops/. We look forward to structurally annotating genomes with you next week!!
I cannot wait!
