Description: Prof. Edwin Cheung’s lab seeks recruitment of a postdoc to drive the development of AI programs to interrogate biological data and drug discovery.

Salary Highlights: Postdoctoral Fellow: Approx. MOP 300,000 per year

Requirements:

  1. PhD graduated from a domestically or internationally renowned university.
  2. Holder of a PhD degree for less than 2 years, or expected to obtain a PhD within 6 months.
  3. Strong background in one of the following areas:
    • Computational Biology
    • Biological Sciences
    • Machine Learning & Programming (R/Python)

* Candidates should demonstrate a competitive publication record.

Information about PI and research team: Prof. Edwin Cheung obtained his BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992, and his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester in 2000. He conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University from 1999 to 2004. He joined the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Macau as a Professor in 2013, where he has been since.

Our research group has long been dedicated to investigating the transcription regulatory mechanisms of hormone receptors and therapy resistance in breast and prostate cancers. By combining genomics, bioinformatics, cellular and animal models, we aim to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
