Please see these two questions from 2011:

Despite some doubts and constructive criticism, there was a rather overwhelming consensus that Biostar should have moved to the Stack Exchange network.

Why didn't it happen? What went wrong?

Are there any plans to switch in the future?

I'm pretty sure I remember Istvan putting out another post out after the ones you linked explaining why we weren't moving. It was both convincing and as captain of the ship it's his call anyway.

To quote Captain Malcolm Reynolds, "We don't vote on my ship because my ship is not the rutting town hall."

That was... an interesting read. I didn't know it was basically Istvan's call, I (wrongly) assumed there had been a change of mind from the whole community due to some restrictions from SE.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to remember.

Do you have a link for the Q&A you're referring to?

We have actually switched over to Stackexchange a long time ago. Today is the date to make it public.

Announcement: Biostar is a Visual Basic front-backend proxying a Meteor socket that cross-channels to Stackexchange via Jeff Atwood's iPhone

I agree, today is the best day of the year to make such announcement :-)

Thanks for chiming in Istvan. Can you please explain the irony? I'm probably missing something obvious but I don't get it. Thanks!

EDIT: April 1st :D

It is April 1st, 2014 - sorry for hijacking the question - it is a valid question and I hope the other links provide more context on what the actual reasoning was.
