Correct Cell Line Ontology Entries For The Nci60 Cell Lines?

The Cell Line Ontology (CLO) contains entries for a lot of cell lines. The NCI60 database screened a lot of drugs against 59 (originally 60) cell lines, which I like to represent in my RDF by CLO classes. For example, the NCI60 database speaks of the HL60 cell line for which the CLO contains multiple entries (e.g. HL60 Ast.3 and HL60 M2). However, I was wondering of there already is a mapping between the the database and the CLO ontology.

Very funny, I just found out your question through a Google Search related to Cell Line Ontology.

In my opinion you should ba able to match the right Cell Line using the ID created by the related cell line repository (e.g. ATCC). In your instance it seems that the ID related to the HL60 cell line your are talking about is CCL-240. So in the CLO it seems that it corresponds to the entry HL60.

By the way there is an interesting paper related to the Cell Line Ontology that have been released in end of july 2011 : Cell Line Ontology: Redesigning the Cell Line Knowledgebase to Aid Integrative Translational Informatics

[?]Update :[?] It seems that to get the last version of the Cell Line Ontology it is better to use this webpage than the webpage available at Bioportal.
