Salary: £29,799 - £38,833

The Bioinformatics Support Unit is looking to recruit an Experimental Scientific Officer to support research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences by providing analytical services for high-throughput ‘omics techniques, including genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. You will join a successful and experienced core facility, and will take part in cutting-edge research programs across the Faculty, especially those generating high-throughput (“next generation”) sequencing data.
You will be an experienced bioinformatician, with knowledge of commonly used software packages, and a widely used programming language (Perl, Python, R). You will hold a relevant postgraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant role. A PhD is desirable due to the academic nature of the post.
