Off topic:How much sense does it make to try creating a biological artificial brain as artificial intelligence?

I've read about https://www.cnet.com/news/scientists-raise-mini-human-brain-in-a-petri-dish/, which talks about scientists having found a way to raise human like brain in a petri dish. Are there more projects like this? Is there any way to estimate the amount of time might take to overcome size limitations (food supply for cells) and similar? Everybody talks about AI, but maybe biological I is consuming less power yet powerful ..
