I have a question about RepeatMasker's ".out" format output.
What does the value "DNA" (not "DNA/" followed by something but just "DNA") in the column "repeat class/family" entail? Is it a DNA transposon or just a repeat in a DNA but not a transposon?
Hi, if I remember correctly, the classification is done to DNA if it has a transposase (or something that is shared among other DNA transposons/class II) within its sequence, but missing other components to be classified further into different classes (e.g. Harbingers, Cryptons, etc.)
