Hi all,

I'm trying to operationalize Kaiju on my local PC. I downloaded the non-redundant database and extracted locally. I am now trying to run and hitting a segmentation fault, which I believe is due to the computer running out of memory. I have 32GB of memory. I see some pretty high RAM requirements listed here, and yet, I think those may only be for building the index locally, and not downloading the prebuilt index. Is this correct?

Is there any way I can run this program with some fastqs without hitting a segmentation fault?

The last column denotes the required memory for running Kaiju with the respective index and for creating the index (in brackets).

Looks like 32 GB of RAM simply won't be enough if kaiju works like kraken and loads the database into memory.
