Hi,

I am working on computationally inferring cell types from bulk RNA-seq data for a fish species using the CIBERSORTx method. However, since this is a non-model species, no single-cell RNA-seq dataset is available to generate a signature matrix.

I’ve read that it may be possible to use single-cell data from a related species as a proxy, but I haven’t come across examples of this approach being implemented successfully.

Do you have any advice or recommendations on using cross-species single-cell data for generating a signature matrix? Alternatively, are there other methods or resources you’d suggest for tackling this challenge?

Thank you in advance. Nerea
