We study how to slow ageing by combining modern AI methods with large‑scale biological data. We’re hiring a DFG‑funded postdoc who can apply both traditional bioinformatics and generative‑AI approaches to intervention datasets in longevity and chronic disease.

What you’ll do

Analyse real‑world, messy multi‑omics datasets from longevity and chronic‑disease intervention studies. Use these agents to orchestrate bioinformatics tool calling and to invoke domain‑specific omics models (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics, single‑cell) within end‑to‑end pipelines.

Link model outputs with wet‑lab and clinical data to nominate and prioritise testable targets for extending healthspan.

Write clear, reproducible code and communicate results to the team and collaborators.

What you bring

PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Strong Python skills. Experience with ML/AI and familiarity with LLMs/agentic workflows are a plus.

Comfort working with large omics datasets and real‑world data wrangling.

Open‑source mindset—contributions or well‑maintained public repos are a plus.

Curiosity, initiative and collaborative communication in English (spoken and written).

What we offer

A mission‑driven team dedicated to tackling ageing—your ideas will shape the work.

High trust and autonomy: real freedom to pursue promising directions and flexibility in how you work.

Reimbursement of reasonable costs for presenting your work at conferences/workshops.

Subsidised public‑transport job ticket.

A diverse, international environment that values openness, impact and collaboration.
