What is the standard bioinformatic approach to detect convergent/parallel evolution in a set of homologous sequences? Being a starter in this topic I'm vaguely aware of quite a number of statistical tests developed to detect convergent and parallel evolution. Are there standard tools that implement these statistical methods and make the task of convergent evolution detection straightforward? Thanks.
