I am handling GO-BP pathways. Simply, what I want to do is to categorize each GO-BP terms. Let's see if total GO-BP terms can be divided into 6 classes (DNA repair, Chromatin assembly, Cell cycle, RNA process, Immune response and Metabolic process). What am I supposed to curated categorization of each GO-BP terms to higher-level? Just depending on ancestor pathway? http://www.ebi.ac.uk/QuickGO/GTerm?id=GO:0000375#term=ancchart. Due to the hierarchy feature of GO terms, I don't have any idea how to categorize each GO-terms and say each term into broad higher-level. I think considering the different level may be very complex to categorize each term.

Simply put, can I category GO:0000375 into Metabolic process and RNA process? It make sense?

It may help to clarify your questions since you haven't gotten a response. For example, "What am I supposed to curated categorization of each GO-BP terms to higher-level?" is not clear. Are you trying to understand which ontology to use or how to get/use the ancestor term?
