Is there a comparative study among the GWAS association mappings tool box?

I found a lot of GWAS toolbox for association mapping here and I know even more exist. I wonder if there is a comparative study among them, listing their advantages and disadvantages against each other.

Also, that out of them, I think PLINK is the most famous one, but for what reason? I guess it is the most comprehensive one covering a variety of functionalities. However, is it the one that can also work with the largest amount of data? or is it the one that can compute with least time consuming? Maybe not.

So, I wonder if there is a comparative study of these tools. If not, then is it worth studying them. Is this study academic publication material?
