HPRD direct/indirect interactions

Hi,

does anyone know whether protein-protein interactions in HPRD are direct or indirect? As I know a lot of people treat this database as indirect. But there is a column 'Type' on the HPRD website for each interaction which can be either 'Direct' or 'Complex'.
