Hello everyone, I need suggestion from experts at this place. I am planning to retrieve data from GEO and analyses it. Basically I will be focusing on miRNA , lnc RNA expression profile and also memory response by the host in Viral infection (Human DNA virus). Somehow it will not be possible to validate the retrieved data, so I will be doing some comparison between various expression profiles. Does it sounds good because I have seen people validate Microarray data.what else can be done with retrieved data I want to know as I am new to this field. Also I have to learn analysis part. Hoping for the suggestions
What biological question are you trying to answer? Have you identified at least one dataset of interest? If so, what are you going to do to analyze that dataset?
Thanks for reply. I will see the effect of virus encoded miRNA to the host. How miRNA is regulating the gene expression, target sites where it is binding (mostly remain conserved) etc. There are other questions as well but initially I will stick to this for learning purpose. I have identified various dataset but I dont know how to process further, I have to learn that for that I may collaborate with someone for analysis part. I hope the explanation is clear. Also can you send me the link from where I can know the basics. i have tried to read NCBI GEO literature, I am unable to grasp it completely.
