Good day to everyone.

I am analyzing gene LOC728613 (Homo sapiens programmed cell death 6 pseudogene (LOC728613), non-coding RNA.) via UCSC gene browser and wondering if there is any information that stands behind the number (6) in it's name?

Thanks!

It's just a number/identifier. There is also a programmed cell death 5 pseudogene, programmed cell death 2 pseudogene and programmed cell death 10 pseudogene (I did some very limited googling, there will be more family members). Sometimes gene names are not very original.
